Michael J. Fox is appearing in political ads around the country in states where stem cell research is on the ballot. He has also appeared before congressional hearings on how the research has potential benefits on the Parkinson's Disease from which he suffers.
Now Rush Limbaugh has opened his yap, criticizing Fox and claiming he was "either off his medication or acting" in the ads. Apparently Rush thinks Fox isn't as bad as the commercials make him seem. I don't believe that's true, but giving the ditto head some benefit of the doubt, there are hundreds of thousands of people with Parkinson's that are worse than how Fox appears. If there is a God, we'd see a bit of 'eye for an eye' and Rush would suddenly be in the throws of Parkinson's himself.
Being afflicted with a disease at the center of the debate, Fox has a legitimate concern, personal self interest, and a valid perspective for the debate. Fox will be on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric tonight [Thursday 10/26].
Rush should keep his oxycontin-addicted nose out of it.
