[I took this photo at Arlington National Cemetery.]
On this American day of remembrance, take some time to watch this Tribute To Our Troops photo montage from Iraq. Thanks to Rus, a veteran (who happens to be gay), for forwarding this link. I know many gay men and transgender MTF (former marines) that have served in the military in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue, Don't Harass" is a farce and should be repealed immediately. The problem isn't the proud GLBT service members who want to protect us and our country, it's the latent homosexuals, hicks, and krazy khristians in the military that have a problem serving with them.
If protecting our country was a top priority, why would the U.S. military have discharged qualified translators fluent in Arabic, Urdu, and Persian? It clearly shows that the top priority is keeping the religious base happy — our security falls somewhere below that.

I'm a Navy "brat" and a big queer Democrat -- it's a dicey combination sometimes, but somehow I manage to be absolutely opposed to stupid wars built on lives in which thousands of young American lives are sacrificed in the name of nothing, while simultaneously feeling nothing but respect for those brave innocents who do the fighting, and dying.
That tribute brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the link. :-)
I continue to appreciate your blogs!
