Phreaky Phenomenon

Over the past several days of warm weather, the snow has been slowly melting and there are large patches of grass to be seen. This is pneumonia season...with a 50 degree jump in temperature over the past week, people tend to dress more lightly than they should. People are driving their cars with the tops down. I've been nursing a chest cold but I couldn't resist getting outdoors and doing some chores in a tank top. Does it make me more stupid since I know better?

To the phreaky phenomenon: a light rain started this afternoon. The effect is that we have fog, but it's from the ground up. The melting snow is forming a pretty dense layer that is blanketing the yard and street. Kinda like the stage effect of dry ice. It reminds me a bit of Stephen King's short story The Mist. Who knows what evil lurks outside your home?

They are predicting snow this weekend, potentially a major storm if weather fronts converge on us just right. I'm supposed to get down to visit friends in NYC on Saturday and Sunday. I hope this doesn't impede my trip!
