TV Thursday: Lost

BONUS! Matthew Fox encounters fans in an elevator on SNL.

**SPOILER ALERT FOR REST OF POST**

So much happened in this episode, but it doesn't seem like much happened at all!

Following directions on Eko's divining rod, Kate, Sayid and John set out to rescue Jack and tromped for two days through the jungle until they happened upon a cow that led them to The Flame station. Here they encountered one-eyed Mike, the goon-o-saurus previously seen acting all menacing on a Pearl station video camera.

We found out that there are "Hostiles" on the island that pre-date Dharma Initiative which arrived on the island 11 years prior to the Oceanic crash. The Hostiles are so hostile, in fact, that Dharma rigged The Flame with C4 explosives that can be set to self destruct if an incursion is made into the site. We have yet to meet the Hostiles. Hmmm, will the Others and our fabulous castaways band together to ultimately defeat the Hostiles? Stay tuned for season 5.

Inside the station, a computer set to play video chess can be used to communicate via satellite or sonar with the outside world. We find out from the Asian creep in all the Dharma videos that food deliveries can be ordered this way, too.

After Nadia the cat alerts Sayid to the trap door in the floor, we find out that Mrs. Klugh is lurking down in the basement. (Can Sayid speak Russian, too?) Kate slugged her good when she realized she was part of the crew who kidnapped her, Sawyer, and Jack and ferried them over to the Hydra station. Alas, Klugh ended up shot at her own request by one-eyed Mike after a verbal battle in fluent Russian.

Now, what's up with John having such an affinity for blowing up Dharma stations? Sheesh.

Last but not least, I guess I had it right when I started the nickname alert last week. This week, in a winner-take-all ping pong game, Hugo defeated Sawyer with the prize being no use of nicknames for a week:

• Sawyer Nickname Alert: Paulo=Zoro; Hugo=Avalanche; Jin and Sun=Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon; Hugo=Grimace (enjoyable McDonald's reference)
• Paulo Nickname Alert: Sawyer=Hillbilly

Well, Hugo is a ringer and won the game and now there's no nicknames for the forseeable future. In this show, a week could span until next season.
