TV Thursday: Lost

**SPOILER ALERT FOR REST OF POST**

This episode was a Locke-a-palooza! Honestly, this character grates on my nerves like fingernails on a chalk board. But lots of new questions were raised and new mysteries unveiled.

• Locke continues to prove that he's a complete mess. Sometimes people create their own bad luck, and he's the unluckiest SOB I've ever seen. This is one guy that always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He graduated that course summa cum laude.
• We find out that Kevin Tighe, who conned Locke out of a kidney, was conning a woman worth over $200M into marrying him. The future stepson catches on, Locke denies knowing Dad, Dad kills future stepson, Dad shoves Locke out an 8-story window and leaves him for dead. Got that? I was wrong on this one. I didn't think he was really Locke's Dad...I thought he was a con man and being his father was part of the con, too. Who knows, maybe I'm right and we'll find that out next week.
• Jack has more tats on the inside of his left forearm that I failed to notice before now. You can see part of them on the inside of his elbow in the above pic from a earlier episode.
• Tom warned Jack that the game room, replete with a pool table (Insatiable, anyone?) and foosball, was bugged. Sorry, couldn't resist the 80's porn reference. Jack tells Kate he'll come back for her even though he didn't tell her that he watched her and Sawyer hump in the bear cage.
• Jack is due to leave the island with Juliet via the submarine. But bug-eyed Ben manipulates Locke, as foreshadowed by Alex, into destroying the submarine with the C4 from the Flame station...awww, he doesn't want Jack and particularly Juliet to go.
• Danielle finally saw her daugher. If Ben was born on the island, and Alex is their daughter, how did they meet?
• Is there something profound about Locke that the island healed his spine but hasn't done the same for Ben?
• Kate and Sayid seemed to have been captured by a new set of goons we haven't seen before. Maybe that's why Juliet didn't have much trouble shooting the guy on the beach to help Kate and Sawyer escape. Are these the Hostiles and the Others? I don't know.
• Suddenly Susan's Cuban, who recruited Juliet to the island, opened Pandora's Door at the end of the episode. What Locke saw was a surprise to me. I thought it was going to be the smoke monster. How did he get there? Did they know Locke was coming? That must have been planned a long time ago for them to find him and get him to the island.
• I think Kevin Tighe better call 911 cause he's about to have...hold for it...an Emergency!

Lots of references remind me of "home" in Orange County. Desmond's boat was from Newport Beach. Hurley's meteoric restaurant was in Diamond Bar. And the box company that Hurley owned where Locke worked was in Tustin.

So much to talk about. What did you think?
