Just starting to bloom...
All grown up...
Grape Hyacinths were planted by the thousands in Washington Park at the end of the tulip beds for Albany's Tulip Festival. These photos were taken here in our yard. They have no scent like the strong perfume of a regular hyacinth.

one of my favorite flowers!
I love 'em, but those little bastards are tricky to photograph. You must have been rolling around on the ground to get those pix.
Michael -- Peonies are my favorite and our bushes are up about 2 feet with flower buds.
MSM -- LOL! I have a little Sony 3.2MP digital camera with a 1.5" LCD screen so I can see what I'm doing if I squat down. There is a "flower" Macro setting that I use for the close-ups. [A 10+MP digital SLR Nikon is on my wish list so I can use all the lenses I already have for my film camera.]
I take lots of shots and bring 'em into Photoshop where I can do some art direction and crop the best of them. If they look like crap then, I can see what my mistakes were, and just pop out into the yard and reshoot. My biggest challenge is to avoid getting the white aluminum siding from the house in the shots.
I already have my Lily of the Valley and Lilac posts done for next week.
