I have my imaginary karma bank where I make deposits when I do good deeds and make withdrawals when good things happen to me. It's a perfect way for me to be conscious of when I do positive things and also to make an effort to recognize when others do good things since it's always so easy to only see the bad in the world.
This weekend I couldn't find my wallet — or more accurately, it is a mini credit card holder. I never put money in my wallet...always in my front pocket. Well I turned the house updide down and even blamed my mother (in my mind) for absent-mindedly putting it way somewhere like she so often does with other items.
I back tracked where I'd been all week and remembered that I had been to the grocery store a week ago. I called and sure enough it had been turned in to the courtesy desk. And as I mentioned, I never put money in it. But that day, I was wearing pocketless sport shorts so the money was folded and put in there. The whole $38 was there, too. Unfortunately, no one left their name of business card so I couldn't send a reward.
Big karma withdrawal. Good things happen to good people!

My karma ran over my dogma.
Kidding.
But isn't it nice to be reminded every now and then, that people aren't total arse holes?
