In the June 19, 2007 issue of The Advocate, they profiled a local Albany woman (and student at Sage Graduate School in Troy) who was the victim of a non-violent hate crime. Erin Davies reported that her recent model VW Beetle, complete with a rainbow bumper sticker, was defaced with the words "fag" and "u r gay" in red spray paint.
Deciding to make lemonade out of lemons, she left the graffiti in place and is taking a cross country trip and blogging about her experiences. Her web site, Fag Bug, details this story and links to her blog.
