Creative and descriptive with a bit of mischief thrown in. That's a nice summation of the style and vibe set over at Perge Modo written by the Farmboyz. I've been reading their blog for quite a while, having found it through Joe.My.God. They are friends of his and wind up being mentioned in quite a few of his posts as he recounts their many escapades.
A couple of things make this blog special. For creativity, nothing beats the author-made cartoon strips. Story lines, dialogue, and interesting graphics make these entries unique. I only wish I had thought of it first!
When it comes to writing, there's an obvious command of the language and they turn many tricks phrases along the way. A lot of stories are written in first person. As they describe their adventures and surroundings, vivid mental pictures are conjured up as if you are looking through their eyes and making mental notes of all the same details.
Another frequent feature is the man-on-the-street interview. When it comes to controversy, these guys are a bit of a magnet. With a camera always at the ready, a healthy dose of instigation curiosity, and a fearless attitude to jump right into the middle of things, they record it all so their readership can stream it into their own homes. I find these hysterical. As my best friend and I always say about ourselves, trouble always seems to find us. So it's nice to know we aren't the only ones.
I had the pleasure of meeting these men at the Pride parade in New York City last weekend. Aside from being handsome, I'd say the general impression I got from them is that they're easy to be around.
Farmboyz, welcome to my blog roll!
