Welcome To My Blogroll: Me!

Life in the blogosphere has proven interesting. I've found that my life falls pretty neatly into three distinct aspects/personalities/areas of interest.

Here on Why Oh Why, my main blog, I write mostly about the things that rumble through my head and my observations of, and reactions to, the world around me. I try to mix it up with the content to keep it interesting...for me and hopefully for you. There's a lot of animal wildlife stuff in the winter and gardening stuff in the summer, too.

Alzheimer's Moments is where I talk about the trials and tribulations of life as a full-time caregiver to my mother who has Alzheimer's Disease. I try to keep it lighthearted since life can be frustrating, annoying, and down right depressing. It would be easy to wallow in the crap, but for right now at least, I'm able to maintain an upbeat attitude. The Paxil doesn't hurt.

Most of the things on one blog wouldn't generally appeal to the audience of the other, although I do have several faithful readers that keep up with both. (Thank you, thank you!!)

One glaring aspect of my life that doesn't appear in very much depth on either blog is my life as a gay man, particularly as a political activist. I've been out and proud for a long time now and much of that self-esteem has been generated by activism in a GLBT Political Action Committee in southern California. As the Marketing Director on the Board of Directors for The Elections Committee of the County of Orange (ECCO), my responsibilies are design and production of endorsements Voter Guides and ads, mailings, database management, monitoring the email, and the web site. Even though I'm 3,000 miles away, I can still make a significant contribution through the wonders of email and the Internet.

Today, I add ECCO to my blogroll. Years ago I designed their web site and frankly it was getting long in the tooth. I used all the cool things at the time...roll overs, frames, etc. By converting it to a blog format, the effort will be easier, the cost less, and the content more current. We'll be able to ditch our hosting company and I will stop writing the newsletter. Members will see content updated almost daily rather than see info that could be more than a month old in the newsletter.

As for my personal gay life, I don't really have one. Circumstances don't permit it. But I do enjoy commenting on other blogs that raise such topics so watch for me there although there isn't a whole lot to report!

Anyway, welcome me, myself and I to my blogroll!
