Beantown Blogger Boys

I've booked my trip to Boston to meet up with Tony at Evil Ganome and RG at Dulce Y Peligroso. Dan at Monkey Clubhouse is confirmed and we'll be asking Mike at Masspurgation, too.

I'll be there Friday Nov 2 to Sunday Nov 4. As it stands, it's going to be an unstructured casual weekend. Tony and RG are thinking of a good spot and time for everyone to have a place to meet up and introduce themselves to fellow bloggers. Other than that, it's pretty much everyone on their own. (RG and I — and others? — will be going to the season opener of the Boston Celtics that Friday night.)

If this excursion to Beantown sounds of interest, you're welcome to join in. Like I say, other than the main group get-together, you'll be on your own unless you make specific plans with or without other bloggers.

I just booked the Millennium Hotel Bostonian in Quincy Market through Hotwire.com for $109/night! The trick to Hotwire.com is that you don't know the hotel until after you book it. Since there weren't any other 3.5 star hotels in Quincy Market at anywhere close to this price, it's a good bet that's the hotel you'd get when you book it. (This is how I booked my hotel in New York City back in June and I stayed at the Millenium Hotel United Nations and it was great...and only $159/night...awesome for mid-siummer in NYC!)

I haven't been to Boston as a tourist in over 20 years so I expect I'll be out walking the city if the weather is nice. That's the main thing I do when I travel — at least the first time I'm in a new place. I like to get out and walk around and see the area, what people are like, how they live, etc. When I get home, I want to have the feeling of what it would be like if I were to live there. Malaga, Spain is still calling my name. Any city that spawned Pablo Picasso and Antonio Banderas can't be all bad! But I digress.

Hope to see you there!
