Low-Cal Diet Tip #2: Pick The Right Hot Dog

I love me some hot dogs. This is an easy way to make a difference. I've had all three versions of Hebrew National Beef Franks and I can't taste any difference between them.

Compare:

Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Beef Franks
50 calories each

Hebrew National Reduced Fat Beef Franks
120 calories each

Hebrew National Beef Frank
150 calories each

Hot Dog Bun
120 calories

Campbell's Pork & Beans 11oz Can
140 calories

Dinner Meal: Franks and Beans
One Regular Hot Dog on a Bun — 270
1/2 Can of Pork & Beans — 70
Can of Regular Lemon-Lime Soda — 160
Total Calories — 500

Alternative Dinner Meal: Franks and Beans
Two 97% Fat Free Hot Dogs (No Buns) — 100
Whole Can of Pork & Beans — 140
Glass of 50% Cider — 70
Total Calories — 310

More food, same flavors, ~200 fewer calories!
Oh, and pickles have no calories either.

Stay away from the cow and pig as much as possible. But then again, how can you resist a big, fat, juicy weiner?

I only like hot dogs when they're 'attached'...

I have to disagree with RG (not the first time) Pig and cow are fine as long as you are choosing low fat options. Also, lots of green vegetables. Just cut back on your carbs and stay away from corn and soy as much as possible. And prepared food, you wouldn't believe all the shit in it.
