Yep, ladies and germs, the TV Land I Love Lucy marathon starts tonight. And it goes all week! I'm in hog heaven.
One of the things I miss from my move from CA is the loss of seeing dear, sweet, adorable Lucy. Los Angeles station KTTV-11, now the Fox affiliate, has run two episodes back-to-back every morning for at least the 20 years that I lived there. They bump it around a bit on the morning schedule...11-12, 9-10...it never mattered because I've always had them on regardless of what else was on.
She's a mess in a dress. My best friend and I refer to each other as Lucy and Ethel since we always seem to find ourselves in oddball situations.

My favorite episode doesn't seem to show up much. Ethel wants to redecorate her apartment, and of course, cheap skate Fred won't give her any money. Lucy and Ethel wallpaper the living room. It's been so long since I saw it, that's all I remember. That, and tears running down my cheeks.
My fave was the one where Ricky sang "Babalu". They talked about it so much in other episodes, and the audience seemed to love any mention of it, but until I saw it for myself I had no idea a) what a good singer he was, and b) how funny he was.
Likewise, there I was, blinded by tears of laughter. How could you not love Lucy?
So hard to choose. The candy factory episode and when Ethel bets Lucy that she can't be honest for a day stand out. Luuucyyyy, you got some 'splainin' to do!
