I do miss watching Bugs on Saturday mornings...but you bring it all back! I'm thinking of that other opera where Elmer was singing, "Kill the wabbit! Kill the waaaaaabbit!" Or the opera singer concert in the Hollywood Bowl when they thought Bugs was Leopold! I got all of my culture and class from Bugs Bunny!
Rich, those clips are coming. I have several Bugs clips, those you mentioned included, that I found and saved to draft that I'll post in coming months.
What I love particularly about these old Bugs cartoons is that they combined real classical music with mainstream comic entertainment for the masses. Brilliant.
I just remembered that I attended a concert at the Hollywood Bowl where the symphony played the classics live while the Bugs cartoons were projected on a screen above the stage. Very fun!

And both he and Elmer in drag. Go figure.

Bugs is the best. The DVDs of Looney Tunes are so beautiful - even better colour than I remember as a kid.
I loves me some Bugs. Thanks for sharing these.
One of my alltime faves. Of course I also enjoy What's Opera Doc-- the wagner ring cycle in 7 minutes.
