I didn't go to the movies yesterday. Aside from the weather, there just wasn't anything in the theaters I'm interested in seeing. So instead of a movie review to post today, I found this clip that I saw before Beowulf 3D last week. It was awesome!
J.J. Abrams, creator of my favorite Lost (among other things), is readying a movie for release on January 18, 2008. The project is "top secret" with no title or subject being released. As I understand it, this trailer debuted before the Transformers movie.
See additional trailers and teasers at the Apple web site.
There are rumors on what's causing this disaster but I hope it is something different. I want the entire movie to be as great as this clip.

I think the best film I've seen for getting that style of docu-drama realism was "28 Days Later", the cautionary tale about the consequences of disconnection. The "life as we know it is over" theme came in the form of the Rage virus.
This one should be interesting, but I agree with you on the premise.
