It's down to the final 12 with six guys and six gals competing. This week was the first time the show had access to the songs written by Lennon and McCartney.
My Favorites Of The Night
Brooke White — Let It Be
• She keeps knocking it out of the park. Strong, emotional, and added playing the piano to the mix.
Carly Smithson — Come Together
• She's performed it hundreds of times in her regular bar gig, so she was able to let it rip. Again, she was on the money.
David Cook — Eleanor Rigby
• Started slow but built to a big finish.
Chikezie Eze — She's A Woman
• I'm enjoying him more and more. It was a risky rendition but paid off.
Syesha Mercado — Got To Get You Into My Life
• She was quiet at first, almost overwhelmed by the band. The last few bars were awesome and she would have been the winner of the night if she had sang it all that way.
Ramiele Malubay — In My Life
• It was delicate and I like this one the best of all her performances. One of my favorite Beatles songs.
The Rest
Michael Johns — Across The Universe
• Slow and plodding.
David Hernandez — I Saw Her Standing There
• Seemed out of breath most of the song. I can't say it better than the reviewer over at MTV online:
David's pre-performance interview was chock-full of absurdity. First, he talked about working at a "pizza bistro" (when we all know he works at a sausage factory). And then he had the gall to start a sentence with "A typical day for me would be ..." without ending it with stripping for sweaty Asian businessmen." His "I Saw Her Standing There" was equally vexing, not only because the song is about falling in love with a girl who's considered jailbait in most states, but also because David chose to sing it with more melisma and neck snaps than an all-day marathon of "VH1 Divas."David Archuleta — We Can Work It Out
• After forgetting the words and turning in a mediocre performance, we see that his victory is not inevitable.
Kristy Lee Cook — Eight Days A Week
• Tried a country-ish adaptation. I think it would have worked if the tempo hadn't been so fast.
Jason Castro — If I Fell
• Awful.
Amanda Overmyer — You Can't Do That
• The naughty nurse turned screaming Mimi. If she stays, at least her dad is hot. Paula said she looked "fantastic"...I'm now convinced that Paula is blind, has no taste, or both.
Worst Interaction
I've had enough with the judges carrying on. I've also had enough of the audience disrupting Simon with jeers and boos whenever he says something negative.

I agree with you (mostly). Check out my take when you get a chance.
I've been waiting for your reviews!
I'm liking Brooke White more and more.
Yeah, the banter amongst the judges and the audience really ruins the show for me and it makes my blood boil when I see the audience swaying their hands back and forth during the slower songs.
I tend to agree with Simon more often than not and I can't help but think the show would be at least a half hour shorter if Randy and Paula would just spit out what they had to say without all the extra "yo, dog", "a bit pitchy" and "you look beautiful up there" remarks.
I like Brooke more and more, David sucked, Hernandez sucked, Syesha (hate her) gave her usual perfunctory good vocal with the smile not quite reaching the eyes, bit. Chiezie kicked ass, Ramiele was sheer karoke, and Carly rocked. We pretty much agree across the board, except for Syesha (plastesha).
Hernandez GONE.
I love Brooke. Carly rocks. I miss Sonny.
:-)
Amanda DID look better--- they fixed her hair by giving her extensions.
David Archuleta needs his mouth fucked.
I agree with most of it. Check out my review when you get a chance. Jason frightens me..after he told that story about one of his dreadlocks falling off, I keep thinking one is going to come off him..and he keeps "singing with his eyebrows"..it drive me nuts. Also, Amanda...she reminds me of Cruella DeVille and when she sings, did you notice that she squats the whole time & she never looks at the camera?
My "boyfriends" did great..David C & Michael J. Chikezie by far was one of the best performances. I'm also digging the Irish girl Carly.
