The final seven had Mariah Carey as their mentor who is promoting her latest CD. Could her fake titties be any more obvious? Take 'em down a few cups sizes.
This season continues to be a contest of the mediocre. I'm waiting to be blown away but I have no hope of that anymore. Sometimes I think the judges are raving over the performance since they have to sell the product.
In Order Of My Preference
Brooke White — Hero
• Loved it! She looked incredible.
Syesha Mercado — Vanishing
• I still like her. She was a bit too screechy on the runs this week. She was working it with the dress and earrings.
Carly Smithson — Without You
• She finally covered up that damn tattoo. She started off a little soft, and I know it was to build later in the song, but the beginning was lost in that big venue. Once she got going, she did really good.
Kristy Lee Cook — Forever
• The song was unfamiliar to me. I thought she was flat most of the time, but she seemed to follow the piano so I'm not so sure. I think it was cool in the production piece that Mariah Carey said she could have a big hit with it and that she liked her version better. Oh, and show us more Daddy in the audience!
David Cook — Always Be My Baby
• Once again, I didn't see what the judges saw. I thought it was on par with Carly's performance...too quiet in the beginning and pretty good by the end. Seacrest noted that David was in tears after the raves by the judges. I was in tears knowing that Jason Castro was singing next.
David Archuleta — When You Believe
• He's a great singer, there's no doubt, but everything he sings sounds the same. I'm not sure why I have a problem with it...it makes sense that everything he sings sounds like him. Maybe it's that the song selections are so similar and his vocal variety is lacking. Seacrest confirmed that the poor kid is a nervous wreck on performance day.
Jason Castro — I Don't Want To Cry
• He. Needs. To. Go. NOW.
Moment of the Night
Seacrest ripping the audience member's "Simon For President" sign in half.

I am with you on ALL that you said. AMEN!
I honestly don't know what you smoke before watching AM Idol...
David Cook rocks! It was unique and rocker ballad, and actually made me LIKE a Mariah song.
(I absolutely HATE all things MC).
I liked Syesha and Brooke too. I think the judges were hard on them.
David Fartuleta did a fine job- and finally let loose some vocal runs.
I agree with you that David A has to change things up a bit. It's all starting to sound the same--it's always good--but always the same.
You know I'm a DC, but I have to say you were on the money about DA & JC!!!! Don't worry, he will go soon!! Rest assured he won't be the American Idol.
My favorite line of your post was...
"I was in tears knowing that Jason Castro was singing next.
My favorite Simon line of the evening was...
"It's like ordering a hamburger and only getting the bun"
