I love impatiens; they were one of those plants my mother was good with, so we always grew loads of them when ZI was a kid. All different colours, too. My favourite were sort of peachy.
MSM --- These are the "New Guinea" type. I imagine they'd do very well in your neck of the woods. Years ago I remember seeing a very large one (6'?) in the area of San Fran's Palace of the Fine Arts. Here, they are an annual.
