California Fires

My activist buddy Jeff, who I've written about quite a bit over the past couple of weeks, is under mandatory evacuation for the fire raging near him. He lives due West of Chino Hills where it started this morning so I knew the winds would be blowing the embers and fire line his way. He lives in a community that is surrounded by fields of cactus and sagebrush. Best I can tell, it looks like the fire may have gone through the hills around him, or over him, to Diamond Bar. For those of you not familiar with this area, it is about 5 minutes north of Anaheim Stadium where the California/L.A. Angels play baseball.

It looks like the tract of homes where I seriously considered buying 20 years ago have all burned.

Keep them all in your thoughts.

Its truly terrible to hear of this. Mother nature can be the greatest killer of all! I hope all these people will get help from the government help them get their lives back on track.

It was surreal driving through this. Though we're used to the shaking earth and our seasonal wildfires, it is always so sad to see the devastation and the wake the fires leave. As we passed through the San Bernardino, Riverside, and Yorba Linda areas, we raised a loving thought for those affected. The ash that settled on our area of No. OC reminds us, this close to home, that somewhere, someone has experienced a great loss.
