The Hajj

I think I'm too claustrophobic to be a Muslim.

Tens of thousands of Muslim pilgrims move around the Kaaba, the black cube, inside the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The hajj, which officially started Saturday, is one of the five pillars of Islam, alongside belief in God, praying, fasting, and charity.

That is exactly how I feel when I look at this photo.

What I find fascinating and even beautiful is the mass of people all striving to use their religious beliefs to become better more enlightened people.

And then I also wonder how many of these said same people will actually go back to their villages and cities and practice the the five pillars of Islam.
