I heard from my doctor this afternoon and the MRI, or I should say what they could see of it, looks normal. Yes, peanut gallery, I actually have a brain and it was described as normal!
The not so good news is that they can't see a 9mm x 12mm section of my brain in the scans so I have to go back and do it again. Not sure how that works from a $$$ standpoint. I was told my insurance company, Blue Cross Healthy NY, put up a fuss about covering the first one.
On the up side, I actually found the MRI chamber quite relaxing. I've heard about folks who get super claustrophobic when they go in. I just closed my eyes before they slid me in, pretended I was in a tanning bed, listened to all the banging and whirring, and opened my eyes when they slid me out. I found the noise rhythmic and the experience oddly peaceful.
I've still got a low level headache but I'm feeling less afraid than I was before. I'm struggling in the morning with depression but that is lifting earlier and earlier every day so I think the Pristiq is working. I no longer feel hopeless.
