The hair is gone. I decided that it would be a good symbolic action to take now that I'm starting my life over after placing my mother in an assisted living facility earlier in the week. I also imagined that I was having 18 months of stress and burn-out clipped away.
Here's before and after. The guy who did the shaving said I entered one man and left another. Funny how something as simple as hair can have such impact on people's views.

Here's to new beginnings!
Since I'm bald, you'd think I like the LONG hair, but no, to this day, I just have that affinity for short hair, so my opinion is probably worth little....I LIKE YOUR NEW look, and the idea of new beginnings. It will be very different, and remember, you'll still be seeing lots of your Mom.
I bet it feels as fresh as it looks. New "dos" always seem to give some oomph.
OK, I'm sold. It really brings out your gorgeous eyes, and a radical change in hairstyle is a good way to mark major life changes. The goatee rocks!
