Surrender Dorothy!

The Canada Geese go overhead in honking waves, making their afternoon pilgrimage from the corn fields where they glean from the fields to the reservoir where they spend the night on the water.

I heard all the honking when I was in the house. I grabbed the camera and tried to capture just how many geese there were. Thousands.

As a "Friend of Dorothy," the sky reminded me of the scene in The Wizard of Oz when the wicked witch sent her army of flying monkies to capture Dorothy and her little dog, too.

I don't know how often each honks, or if the same ones do all the honking, but in such huge numbers, it really is loud and continuous.

It doesn't stop at night. When they are down on the water, about .1 of a mile from here, you can hear them clear as a bell.

There are usually some snow geese with them but I haven't seen any of them this year.
