Applegate "100% Cancer Free"

Good news!

Christina Applegate, 36, says she has a clean bill of health after undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

"I'm clear," Applegate tells ABC News' "Good Morning America" in an interview airing Tuesday. "Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer."

The actress, whose mother battled breast cancer, says she began getting mammograms at the age of 30.
A great example that early detection and treatment is the key. Ladies, keep checking for a long healthy life!

Kelly Bundy Has Breast Cancer

Actress Christina Applegate, 36, is fighting breast cancer that was diagnosed during a regular MRI. She's expected to make a full recovery.

Wasn't there a recent news report that women don't need to perform self examinations? I guess, if I were a woman, I'd err on the side of caution. She's only 36!

I love her. She went from playing a dumb adolescent tramp to a television, film, and Broadway star. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Hero Of The Week: Robin Roberts

Robin Roberts is back to work on Good Morning America already after her surgery for breast cancer. She discovered a lump during a breast self-examination a couple of weeks ago and promptly went to the doctor. Her prognosis is really good since it was caught early. With any cancer, the earlier the detection, the higher the survival rate.

Robin represents an amalgam of people who, in our own lives, bravely face being diagnosed with the 'c' word. They endure chemotherapy, radiation, homeopathic remedies, experimental drugs and treatments, etc. They're all heroes.

May Robin and all those battling terminal illnesses be rewarded with good health for their courage and inspiration.
