Hungry Like The Wolf

I'm on a Hungry Like The Wolf bender after seeing a Barbarella clip over at By The Bayou. If you don't get the connection, you probably aren't a Duran Duran fan and this post will suck for you. The song is almost 25 years old and I think it still holds up. And it's a reminder that I'm getting older. Ugh.

Read my review of the Duran Duran concerts I've seen.

So on this Albany Pride Day, I proudly bring you the guys who made it okay for men to highlight their hair. Same song...pick your clip...or pick them all!

The Original
Who can forget the video that practically launched MTV?

A Remix
Put together by a fan using images from the original video and the As The Lights Go Down (ATLGD) concert video. (Lips don't always sync with singing.) The live footage was filmed on the 1984 Tour at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto from which they also pulled together the video for The Reflex. I saw the concert two nights previous in The Carrier Dome at Syracuse University.

As The Lights Go Down
See ATLGD info in "A Remix" above. The singing is live, with heavy video and audio post-shoot production enhancement. Premise: There's a tiger loose in the concert audience. Oh, and that fierce chick is crawling around in there, too.

Pirates of the Caribbean
For Johnny Depp and Pirates' fans.

Dracula 2000
For Gerard Butler (300) fans.

Me, Circa 1983
Not really...but almost.

OMG, a man in a billowy white shirt with headband and we're supposed to think he's straight! Ah, the 80s. What were we thinking? And how many landfills are filled with hair mousse containers?

Oh, btw, the link is wrong - I'm "bythebayoublog" on blogspot, not just "bythebayou." The post with the Barbarella clip here here.

You have no idea how much I wanted to be Mr(s) Simon LeBon back in high school. "Hungry Like the Wolf" drove me nuts with those moans at the end.

A close second for all time Duran Duran favorite is "Girls on Film."

John Taylor still looks good after all these years. (sigh)

Did you actually PURCHASE the Duran Duran album with "Electric Barbarella" on it too?

I did.

And yeah, I get that the group name comes from Barbarella... and the matmos.

Electric Barbarella? Um, yeah!

And I have a box somewhere with every 12" single (foreign and domestic) and picture disks from that time.

Oh, and it was Roger for me.
