Question: If you're against gay adoption because children should be raised in an opposite-sex, two-parent household, how do you account for the greatest Olympic athlete of all time (Michael Phelps) being raised by a single mother and no father?
Oh, and the most important male in his life, his coach/mentor, is single, in his 40s, never married, no kids. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Unless you're John McCain.

Attempting to communicate with a Republican using logic is like attempting to communicate with Frankenstein using fire - it will only anger and infuriate him.
point well taken!
Here Here! I wish these God damn politicians would take more notice of these things!
The only reason children of single-parent families tend to do worse is that they can lack an extended family. Period.
If a kid has grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and honorary cousins (the children of his parent's friends) and is gregarious at school, they often do better later in life because they have to help out their single parent (with chores and such) which kids in nuclear families often don't.
