Since I last posted about Rep. Foley, there have been some interesting developments. I should clarify my use of "Fox" in my title...I originally called Foley a Fox since he was after chicken (young men) in the chicken coop (page program). Not to be confused with Fox News which is mentioned later in this post.
— His lawyer announced that Foley is gay. Who knew? Turns out everyone did. No news there. He might as well have announced that Rosie O'Donnell is a lesbian.
— His lawyer announced that Foley was sexually abused by a clergyman as a child. Why do some people who are abused as children go on to perpetuate the cycle while others don't?
— His lawyer announced that Foley has checked into alcohol rehab. Gee, I wonder why he didn't do that before getting caught up in this scandal? Mel Gibson, same story. I guess if I were addicted to something I might have a better sense of understanding as to the lack of self awareness.
— The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News converted Foley into a Democrat, running a graphic over video footage with "(D-FL)" after his name.
Some lessons learned: Not all gay men are interested in minors; not all people sexually abused as children are interested in minors; not all alcoholics are interested in minors; not all Republicans are interested in minors; and Fox News isn't fair and balanced. No news there, either.

There seem to be few people in the world who understand those delicate distinctions that you note in the last paragraph... it is refreshing to find a blog on the internet that does.
