Snake Oil Trump Spews Venom From Gutter

Things got uglier in the bitter war of words between Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell. He sounded off again on Rosie's remarks about his near-firing of Miss USA Tara Conner. After this embarrassing interview on Entertainment Tonight, Donald jumped back in the gutter with more playground mudslinging on morning show Good Day L.A. and later on Larry King Live and The O'Reilly Factor. Without much substance to discuss, about all he could muster was to basically call her a fat, ugly, lesbian slob.

His demeanor with Larry King and Bill O'Reilly sounded like an interview I watched with him on The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch on CNBC a couple of weeks ago. Trump was such a jerk during the interview I ended up changing the channel it was so uncomfortable.

This guy is a train wreck.

Trumpism 1: "I think she's very attracted to Miss USA so she probably wanted to put the crown on her head herself." Uh, probably not. Just because he's in the business of objectifying women, doesn't mean that she does. Rosie's partner Kelli is pretty hot.

This guy is uncouth.

Trumpism 2: "She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully." What a gentleman! But look in the mirror Donald. I hate to break it to ya, but you didn't get Melania with your looks or charming personality. If you were a plumber and had met her in a bar, you wouldn't even be in her realm of existence. Money, money, money, money — money!

This guy is a megalomaniac.

Trumpism 3: "Ultimately, Rosie is a loser, and ultimately ("The View") will fail because of Rosie. ... Barbara (Walters) made a mistake and let me tell you something, Barbara's a good friend of mine. She cannot stand Rosie O'Donnell." Gee, Donald, how many Emmy's do you have? Oh, and are your ratings for The Apprentice up or down 'cause ratings for The View are way up. While we're talking about who's a loser, how much money do you give to charity? What do you do for other people that won't benefit you somehow in the end?

If Babs is such a good friend, I can't imagine she's very happy with your statements. Assuming she does hate Rosie, and she was stupid enough to tell you about it, there's nothing like throwing her under the bus. Some friend. I doubt she hates her since she hired her only a few months ago. I'm sure Mr. Trump's public thrashing of best friend Martha Stewart didn't sit very well with Barbara, either. (Remember Barbara sitting in the courtroom giving moral support to Martha?)

This whole feud started when O'Donnell blasted Trump on air. She said Trump's news conference with Miss USA had annoyed her "on a multitude of levels" and that the twice-divorced Donald had no right to be a "moral compass" for the beauty queen while imitating him and his comb-over. She also called into question his business prowess which is what I think really set him off.

After Trump denied his bankruptcy, O'Donnell posted an excerpt on Trump's rocky financial history from his Wikipedia biography on her blog to back up her statements. Donald, I think we all remember when you went belly up. Just because you say it didn't happen doesn't mean it didn't. After all, you say your water is the best ever. Own your bankruptcy, and tell us how you plan to repay all those creditors you stiffed now that you're a billionaire again.

Not to defend Donald Trump, but Wikipedia isn't always the most reliable source of information.

What I take from the whole exchange is this: I wish they'd both either go away, or carry out their battle in private.

After I read your note, I thought maybe Rosie got it wrong since Wiki can be questionable. I remember reading about his financial troubles years ago but couldn't recall the details. (Wasn't it about the same time he and Merv Griffin were trying to screw each other in Atlantic City?)

I found two articles that seem to confirm the bankruptcy claims and what Rosie said:

The Philadelphia Inquirer

New York Observer

I have a feeling that while some of his companies went bankrupt, he will claim that he never personally went bankrupt.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out!

That's how I understand it as well. Donald's hotel filed for Chapter 11, but he did have a wide range of assets (casinos, properties) at the time.

Actually, the book he wrote in the 80's, Art Of The Deal, is pretty good. He details his whole financial crunch, and as I recall (it's been awhile) was in a fair bit of financial trouble back then due to the collapse of the real estate market.

Oh, here is a nice summary.

So getting to the Rosie thing, I saw the clip of what she said and it was clear she was just trying to be funny. But I heard a rumor though that she continued trashing him post-show and said some more things.

Having read his book and watched his show for years, I wasn't at all surprised at his reaction. I've always felt that he was a jerk, but I honestly think he can't help it. He would never take any attack lying down, and I he'd come out swinging against the Pope if he felt he had to. I'll continue to watch The Apprentice.

Rosie's record isn't actually stellar lately either. She does have a big mouth, and looked like quite the ass herself when she said Kelly Ripa was making insensative homophobic comments because Kelly flipped out a bit when Clay Aiken put his hand over her mouth (i would too, touching people's face is gross). And then a week later, Rosie came out with some 'chicky-chong' routine about Chinese people, and later said Chinese people should calm down. Her publicist said, "Some people jsut don't get her humor"

I'm not into political correctness myself, but you know, you can't play both sides of the fence. You can't be all into sensativity for gay people and then do a Chickity-China routine a week later. I think she is in trouble on The View, and they are rethinking it.
