TV Thursday: Lost

**SPOILER ALERT FOR ENTIRE POST**

It seems that episodes alternate between those that blow us away, and those that act as a bridge to set up the next plot twist. We weren't subjected to that WTF Juliet so I feel a little better even though I find her acting and part so delicious I can't wait for her storyline to unravel more.

This week's back story was centered around Desmond.
• Desmond was in a 6 year relationship with a speak-her-mind Scottish lass name of Ruth. He backed out of their wedding a week prior when, in a drunken stupor, he awoke to a Franciscan monk asking if he needed help. This was a sign, he thought, so he gave up the girlfriend and all his worldly possessions and entered the monastery where they make wine for bouku bucks. The "brothas" treated him well but it was clear he was not cut out for the cloth, so they gave him the boot. Where upon he meets Penny, the love of his life, who is picking up cases of wine for her super rich father.
• With visions of the future, he gets Hurley, Charlie and Jin to accompany him on a "camping trip" to fulfill his vision. We are reminded that Penny told him that with enough money, anyone can be found. Desmond is convinced that Penny is coming and they will be reunited in eternal bliss. Along the way, the vision shows that Charlie will be killed (once again) with a trip-wire triggered arrow to the throat. And Desmond saves him (once again), cheating fate.
• The vision comes true...a helicopter is heard over the ocean at night and someone is ejected and lands in the jungle. Desmond, sure this is Penny, rallies the campers and in they go from the beach to find the lastest person to drop from the sky. And find her they do. They cut her down from being suspended from her parachute and Desmond removes her helmet with desperate anticipation. Only to find it isn't Penny, but she recognizes him, calling him by name, but who is she?
• With his ability to see the future, his previous time shift, and his ties to the church, is it possible he's on a divine mission?

Elsewhere on the island:
• Kate hopped on Sawyer out of jealousy that Jack was spending time with Juliet. Watch out for that baby making action on an island where getting preggers doesn't end well for mother or child.

Did I miss anything? What did you think?
