Close your eyes and take a deep breath to smell this flower's pretty perfume. I'm actually having a problem controlling these lily of the valley because they spread via a pretty deep root system once they are established and are hard to keep contained.*

L.O.T.V are one of my favorite flowers. It reminds me of the house I grew up in-- the whole north side of our house was a "wildflower" place of violets, bleeding heart, columbine, lily of the valley, and others.
Ah, I love these little flowers. What I never understood tho, even as a florist, is why a flower that grows like a weed is so unbelievably expensive when you buy them.
Michael--I think because they have a short shelf life as a cut flower...they start to droop as soon as you cut them. And their growing season is short so if they are available at other times of the year, they are probably imported or grown and forced in greenhouses.
I always got a kick out of them charging so much for Queen Anne's Lace when I lived in California. It is just a filler...and literally is a weed that grows in the fields all around here. Go figure!
