As The World Turns Is Heating Up

There's a hot new love triangle in full swing on As The World Turns.

Luke Snyder (Van Hansis, top left), the character that came out to his parents last year, has found himself attracted to gay-questioning Noah Mayer (Jake Silbermann, bottom left). And it looks like the feeling is mutual!

The wrench in the works? Noah is dating Luke's best friend Maddie. After getting weirded out by their first man-on-man kiss, Noah ran to his girlfriend and asked her to move in with him after telling Luke the kiss was all a joke. Oh, the drama!

These are my Mom's shows but it is so easy to get drawn in even when you're working on the computer and they're on in the background. Now with a gay storyline, I'll be watching more attentively!

When my dad was in semi retirement he would get home while my mom was still watching the soaps. At first it drove him crazy. Within a month, he was a bigger fan than my mom. You would have had to know him at that time in order for the story to be really funny. Think blue collar, manly type. I almost pissed myself laughing when I found out about it.

Years ago I got hooked on Port Charles. It would come on at 11:30 after the morning news and the intro music was so catchy I started looking forward to it and wouldn't change the channel. Then it would be in the background as I worked on the computer (like now) and before I knew it I knew all the characters and storylines. Even when you're eyes aren't watching, your ears and brain are!

I love As The World Turns! I haven't watched in a while but it's so easy to catch right up. Does your mom watch the rest of the cbs line up too? It's a good way to spend the afternoon :)

Kim, yes she does! As my mom's primary caregiver, it works out well for me that she's into it. Starting from Young and the Restless through to her all-time favorite Dr. Phil. Sometimes she sits still for Ellen too so that gives me 4.5 hours of a semi-break when I can actually do some work!

Now that her Alzheimer's has progressed, she doesn't really know any of the characters or storylines but she still likes to sit and watch. I guess it's a decades old pattern that's hard to break.

As The World Turns was my grandmother's favourite, so I always used to watch with her. I can remember watching the day Luke Snyder was born.

I have always had the biggest crush on the actor playing his dad Holden (Jon Hensley). I can even remember the first summer Holden showed up, playing a stable hand, in his tank top and his chest pelt and his cute little face.

YOW!

I haven't watched it since my grandmother died, though. Sounds like I should try and tune in.
