Don't I look positively heavenly with the halo behind me?
Buddy and fellow blogger Rich at A Work In Progress is moving to St. Petersburg FL by the end of the month. He and I met online two years ago — he was looking for friends after the break up of an LTR; I was looking for them after moving back here from California. We hit it off famously from the git go.
What a wonderful man...Albany's loss is St. Petersburg's gain. He's someone who has his shit together. Someone who you can sit down with and talk to about anything and everything. A laid-back, friendly character if ever there was one!
My only regret is that my current living situation hasn't permitted me to see more of him. I'm sad to see him move, but having been through a similar life experience myself over 20 years ago, I wish him the best on what will be an exciting life adventure!
Last night, we went to see The Bourne Ultimatum. I thought it was great. This was my first of the Bourne films and I was able to follow the story even though I haven't seen numbers one and two although I'm sure that would have added some depth of story for me.
I loved how the film was crafted...from close up face shots, to the action sequences (it was hard to tell what was CGI and what was real), to the hand held cameras that gave it more than a bit of Blair Witch Project feel.
One thing that I always get a kick out of is when I recognize places in movies that I've been before. (Now that I've lived in the LA area for 20 years, it's easy for me to say, "Hey, that isn't Italy, it's Santa Clarita!") My brother and I were just discussing the Eurostar bullet train from Paris to London earlier in the week and I was telling him about what it was like. Then in the movie, there was a large action sequence that included a Eurostar trip and a crazy chase scene in Waterloo station. All the shots in NYC were easy to identify, too.
I had avoided these films because of Matt Damon. I thought he was great in Good Will Hunting but his character creeped me out in The Talented Mr. Ripley and I haven't like him since. Of course, it was the character I didn't like, but that rubbed off. I suppose that is further tribute to him and his acting skills. Anyway, now I have to seek out the first two installments in the series and catch up.
