It was guys night singing songs from the 70's. Most seemed to be drowned out by the band. In post-performance judging, the guys seemed to have thin skin (I can't say as I blame them) and Simon got irritated.
My Favorites Of The Night
David Archuleta — Imagine
• Yes, he still irritates me but he was by far and away the best of the night. I thought about how any of the other contestants could have done the same thing...but they didn't, and that's all part of the competition.
In an interview piece before his performance, they showed David singing for the first cast of American Idol in the lobby of their hotel. He was good then, and a pre-famous Kelly Clarkson gave him a big hug and props.
Chikezie Eze — I Believe To My Soul
• The first powerful voice of the night. I haven't been a fan of his throughout, but last night he did great and his gregarious personality really came through.
David Hernandez — Papa Was A Rollin' Stone
• Much better than last week and still good looking.
Luke Menard — Killer Queen
• I knew he looked like someone else and it wasn't until Douche Seacrest called him Dawson's Creek did I put it together that he looks a lot like James Van Der Beek. He did pretty good on his song.
Jason Castro didn't perform very well, but in his interview, he commented that there was a lot of "non-singing" involved in the competition like interviews, photoshoots, etc. He is socially awkward and said he just wants to sing. Insightful.
David Cook had shades of Daughtry and angertwink Danny Noriega did okay.

David irritates you? Why? He's just young. He's shy. Or is it all an act? I prefer to think he's just shy. I loved his performance last night. Also loved Chikezie. He's no AI, but he was good last night. Luke Manard..um...no. Too much chest showing. Biceps too big. Ok then there's the guy who usually wears the do-rag..can't remember his name. Is it just me, or is that a wig on his head. Cause I'm thinkin that it is. Oh...David Hernandez...yes, and yes most definitely. And finally, angertwink? You made me laugh out loud, really loud, at work!! How does he do that with his neck?
