The "Nut Poll" has been up for a while and I'm surprised about the number of votes it received! Apparently, when it comes to nuts, folks have an opinion and like to express it...even the surfers paused long enough to vote!
My favorite, the macadamia, finished near the bottom of the list. I will say I wasn't surprised that the cashew finished in first place with nearly half of all votes.

You're being too hard on your macadamias. At 6% they're in the "spoiler" category, and would definitely make the mixed-nuts cut. I think I chose cashews, but I actually like all the nuts on the list, and nuts in general. But yours weren't on the list...
I was a little surprised pecans came in so low. Macadamia's? Not so much. I don't think they really taste like much. I guess they are more about texture.
Mike--I'll have to work on revising my list.
Tony--Yes, macadamias are good for texture, but I also like their saltiness when plain. And I love cookies with milk chocolate chips and macs. Then there's the chocolate covered macadamias that everyone brings back from Hawaii!
I like macadamias too, but they're a little too buttery/rich sometimes. Neither of my favorites--pecans or hazelnuts--did very well, and I positively hate cashews. Just another reminder that I'm a bit out of the mainstream....but, I voted for briefs/tw today, so I'm getting with the program!
