From the day late and a dollar short file:
"Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a new memoir that President Bush relied on an aggressive 'political propaganda campaign' instead of the truth to sell the Iraq war, and that the decision to invade pushed Bush's presidency 'terribly off course.'Yeah, that's because the Scott McClellan you knew was a presidential syncophant that spread the propaganda to the press when he knew it was all bullshit. He shares the blood of 3,000 Americans and untold thousands of innocent Iraqis because he was too much of a pussy-boy to speak up. He was afraid to lose his job, and thousands have lost their lives as a result. He had the opportunity to speak up when it meant something.
The Bush White House made 'a decision to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed' — a time when the nation was on the brink of war, McClellan writes in the book entitled What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception.
The way Bush managed the Iraq issue 'almost guaranteed that the use of force would become the only feasible option.'
'In the permanent campaign era, it was all about manipulating sources of public opinion to the president's advantage,' McClellan writes.
White House aides seemed stunned by the scathing tone of the book, and Bush press secretary Dana Perino issued a statement that was highly critical of their former colleague.
'Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House,' she said. 'For those of us who fully supported him, before, during and after he was press secretary, we are puzzled. It is sad - this is not the Scott we knew.'
Fuck off, Mr. McClellan.

He and Ari Fleischer are worse than awful; at least he finally came clean.
Is there still enough time left before to impeach? I'd like to see the whole lot of them do some serious time for high crimes.
I couldn't agree more.
I've seen McClellan on the Daily Show more times than I can count, and each time Stewart asks him some version of the question, "Why do I [Stewart] not get it? If you guys were so right, why do people like me just not get it?" McClellan does nothing but bootlick Bush the entire time.
In all those interviews (and others on other shows) there's never been a single indication that he disagreed with Rove & Co. Until now. Until now because he's selling a book.
GREAT post, Gavin.... I STILL am hoping for something NEW when OLBERMAN questions him today..I hope he gives these questions to him....he would be the guy to do it.
