Poor Tina Fey has everything she could possible want — except a baby. Diagnosed as unable to conceive, and too far down on the list for an adoption, she seeks a surrogate to become her Baby Mama. Enter Amy Poehler and amusement ensues.
What I Liked
• Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are just so likable.
• The story was light, uncomplicated, and enjoyable.
• There were a dozen laugh-out-loud moments.
• Amy Poehler's trip to the delivery room through the hospital.
• Dax Shepard, who plays Amy Poehler's husband, is a scene stealer.
What I Didn't Like
• Were Steve Martin and Holland Taylor competing for worst wig and most obvious face lift?
• Although I liked the ending, it was very predictable.
• SNL actors kept popping up in cameos...and it wasn't produced by Lorne Michaels.
• I don't think they could have crammed in one more product placement.
It's mindless, amusing entertainment. If you're looking for a stress-free couple of hours to escape from the world, this one's for you. I've got my thumb up for Baby Mama.

I saw this one too, in an almost empty theater. It definitely had its moments! Steve Martin's acting wasn't stellar in this movie. I also loved Amy P's trip through the emergency ward! If I had seen this with a packed house, and everyone had been laughing, I would have thought it much more funny. Seeing it in dead silence was kind of painful. Overall I would give it a thumbs halfway up. Definitely worth renting if you don't want to spend the cash for the big screen.
I saw it at a matinee and I was the only one in the theater! I thought the same thing...if it had been packed, the laughs would have been more enjoyable since it's always better to laugh with others.
Me too, I am always going for the cheaper tickets. Still, $9.00 for a matinee... I feel like my grandma complaining abut the price of gas at the "filling station".
