Kelly Bundy Has Breast Cancer

Actress Christina Applegate, 36, is fighting breast cancer that was diagnosed during a regular MRI. She's expected to make a full recovery.

Wasn't there a recent news report that women don't need to perform self examinations? I guess, if I were a woman, I'd err on the side of caution. She's only 36!

I love her. She went from playing a dumb adolescent tramp to a television, film, and Broadway star. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

This only serves to remind people that early detection is the key to surviving cancer now.

Needless to say, I'm a huge fan of hers, so the diagnosis was a bit of a shock; at least the prognosis is good.

Luckily she caught it early- I love her as well, and wish her clean margins and a speedy recovery!

And as you rightly note- that report was insane in my opinion and has pissed off many a survivor and their families, myself being one who was outraged. Numerous lumps have been caught by self exam that were missed on annual (or bi-annual depending on how cheap your insurance company is) mammograms that were only months earlier.

I realize I'm one of your few regulars from the distaff gender Gavin, but please let me prompt you gentlemen to remind the women in your lives to take care of themselves! We all have a mother, sister, friend or estrogen accessory we want to be there with us for a long time to come..

Thanks Doralong! I couldn't agree more.

I think we all know ourselves the best and it's important to listen to our own bodies.

My bff, who just turned 39, had a scare about 3 months ago. The biopsies were inconclusive so they had to go in and cut the lump out. Thankfully, further testing revealed it was benign.
