A Chance At My Very Own HGTV Show?

The local ABC affiliate WTEN is due here at 1:30 to film a piece on my mom's aide. The story is about the effect of high gas prices on folks that have to drive to their various jobs throughout the day.

They've said they want a shot of her driving down our street to our house. Of course, I've been working like a dog out in the front yard all morning to make sure our house is the perfect backdrop. I've trimmed. I've raked. I even gave the mailbox a fresh coat of silver paint and its flag a refresh of red.

Who knows, maybe someone will see the piece and hire me for my very own gardening show. Oh, c'mon, one can dream, can't he?

Update: They came and the story appeared 5 minutes into the 6 o'clock newscast! They asked me to do an on-camera interview but I declined. If openly-gay anchor Steve Ammerman was the reporter, who I've written about before, I'd have reconsidered. :)

I'm glad to hear your Mom's doing well......and YOU are gardening! You have some beautiful stuff, and yes, we'd watch your show faithfully! TELL 'em that!

Most of the shots were tight on the aide, the reporter, and the car, so they yard wasn't the star of the piece. They obviously didn't get my memo!

Awww! But I'm sure they still got some of the outside in the shot??

You should send pics of your garden to HGTV. You could even plug it by saying 'as featured on WTEN'...

Too bad, your lovely yard deserves some coverage. Guess I won't look for the YouTube video of the story now...

Oh, see, that's why you needed to do the interview ... buried in the greenery. You could even have slipped in some subliminal messages for the HGTV show.
