TV Monday On Tuesday: Dancing With The Stars

In Order Of My Preference

Melissa Rycroft (Tony Dovolani)
Dance 1: Quick Step
• Great, smooth footwork.
• Tony finally has a contestant that brings out the best in him.
• A joy to watch. Great!
• Judges score: 9 10 9 = 28

Dance 2: Cha Cha Cha
• Boy, one of those moves came really close to Melissa hitting her head on the floor!
• I don't like the Cha Cha Cha so it is hard to gauge whether they did well or not.
• Judges score: 9 9 9 = 27

Total = 55

Ty Murray (Chelsie Hightower)
Dance 1: Viennese Waltz
• He is just so endearing and has such a great self-deprecating attitude.
• He's still a bit wooden, bobbled on the spin near the end.
• Gotta luv his English, "Me and Chelsie worked real hard this week."
• Judges score: 8 9 8 = 25

Dance 2: Samba
• Great movement and floor coverage.
• He seemed less like he was concentrating on the actual steps and went with the flow.
• Judges score: 8 7 8 = 23

Total = 48
Shawn Johnson (Mark Ballas)
Dance 1: Argentine Tango
• Crisp and precise.
• I love the leg flicking!
• Judges score: 10 10 10 = 30

Dance 2: Jive
• Mark moves so quick and he's so limber it looks like he's made of jelly.
• Great speed, movement. Classic Mark choreography with a lot of swinging arms.
• Judges score: 9 8 9 = 26

Total = 56
Gilles Marini (Cheryl Burke)
Dance 1: Quick Step
• The feathers on her dress made it look like she was floating.
• He struck nice, statuesque poses.
• Judges score: 10 10 10 = 30

Dance 2: Salsa
• Lots of movement and action, but I found it boring. Maybe the awful music?
• Great background story of a compassionate man from humble beginnings.
• Judges score: 10 10 10 = 30

Total = 60

I'm just not connecting to Gilles and Shawn even though they are great technical dancers.

Go Ty!
