Hero Of The Week: David Goldman

This story is a bit of the Elian Gonzales situation in reverse. If Janet Reno hadn't returned Elian to his father, would this have been a more difficult fight for an American on foreign soil? "You didn't return Elian, so why should we return Sean?"

A New Jersey man and his 9-year-old son were reunited in Brazil after a 5-year international custody battle, and immediately headed home to spend the holidays in the United States.

David Goldman and his son, Sean, left on a charter plane about three hours after the boy was handed over by his Brazilian family. Sean has lived in Brazil since Goldman's ex-wife, Bruna Bianchi, brought him to her native country for what was supposed to be a two-week vacation in 2004. She stayed, divorced Goldman and remarried, and Goldman began legal efforts to get Sean back.
I give this man an enormous amount of credit for his dedication and love!

I have been following his story fro years.

You should have made him your Hunk-A-Lot Hump Day guy and killed two posts with one writing!

Merry Christmas!

yes, it's been an amazing story. I admit I did not believe he would ever get the kid back..or at best, that the kid would be 18 yrs old when it happened. I was strangely ecstatic when I read the news. did you see that NBC paid for the charter? I'm thinking we'll be seeing more on this drama.
