Etiquette For A Stand Up

Seems like I'm posing a lot of etiquette questions. I guess in a world gone mad, rudeness abounds.

Okay, the stand up.

The Stander Upper:

If you have a phone number to contact the person you're meeting, you should definitely call. But then again, if you called beforehand, that really wouldn't count as a stand up, now would it?

So you stand someone up. Do you call after? How long after? Do you offer an explanation? Do you apologize? [ I'll answer this one: Yes! ]

The Stander Uppee:

How long do you wait for the rude one to show? Is it different for a restaurant, a movie, etc.? Does it depend on who you're meeting ... a first date, co-worker, friend, family member? Do you forgive? I tend to be a less forgiving person. It's situations like this that tell you about a person's character.

Consider that people base their opinions of us on how we behave. While you may not be paying attention to how you're acting, you can be assured that the people around you are.

So when it comes to standing someone up, don't do it, and everyone won't talk crap about you.

Hmmmmmmmm. Sounds a bit familiar. And to add to insult and craziness, the Stander Upper ignores you if you should pass each other on the street. Go figure.
