A Visit From St. Nicholas

The poem, more commonly known as "Twas the night before Christmas," first appeared in print on December 23, 1823 in The Troy Sentinal newspaper. It was written by Clement C. Moore, a New York City theology professor, and brought to Troy by local resident Harriet Butler, who had visited him. The current local paper The Record reprints it every year in the spirt of the holiday. Yes, my friends, lots of history here in Troy!
