When I first received my order of 12 orchids back on March 30, the Mtdm. Bartley Swartz 'Highlander' (Miltonidium) was in spike. That first spike is now in full bloom with two branches ready to bloom within the week. Two more spikes have grown, with the second just starting to bloom. It is quite fragrant.
Here is the Miltonia Morris Chestnut Hilo Hilo previously featured. The first two spikes have died back and I've clipped and covered the tips with wax. The third spike is now in full bloom and smells wonderful in the mid-morning hours. This should bloom at least another week so I've had about 6 weeks bloom time on this one.
The dendrobiums have bloomed but they haven't lasted but a week. Here is the pink one in bloom.
I can't believe how well I'm doing with these. I've usually killed them by now! Now if I can only get them to bloom again — that's the trick.
BTW, I checked back and this order that I purchased for $100 is now going for $150. I scored!

How beautiful! I wish I knew why I am the kiss of death to orchids, I do love them so.
Your orchards are beautiful. I wish I could grow them here.
I wish I could get my two orchids to spike again!
If only they smelled as beautiful as they looked!
MSM...I was surprised that about half that I received are VERY fragrant.
Really? That's amazing. I don't believe I've ever encountered a fragrant orchid.
