Mark asked what type of bird was in yesterday's post. I went out and stalked the poor birds to get some close up pics. Momma would squalk and squalk for about 10 minutes, with me sitting still, until she'd muster up the courage to tend to her babies.

After looking at a lot of bird sites, I've come to the conclusion that this is the female House Sparrow.

Plain old house sparrow. Still, it's nice to see them using the little house you've provided.
I'm so used to seeing the males which look quite different. We have song sparrows and tree sparrows and I wanted to make sure I got it right.
The gold finches are around, too, but keeping a low profile. I wish I could get the robins to shut up...they are so noisy.
