Douche Bag Of The Week: Jesse Helms (Is Dead)

More reason to celebrate today! (Sorry, was that bitchy?)

Former Sen. Jesse Helms, who built a career along the fault lines of racial and anti-gay politics during 30 conservative years in Congress, is dead at 86.
I'll have to make a special trip to piss on his grave. (Okay, that was really bitchy.)

It is ever so hard to maintain the higher moral ground and civil respectable tones when we are discussing the passing of a man who made it his life's work to make enemies of us, insulting and offending and attacking us every chance he got. Perhaps it is juvenile to shout "good riddance" no matter who dies, but I am grateful there is one less enemy alive and well to breed hate and intolerance. So, I'm with you, handsome. The man stopped earning his right to breathe the same air as us a long time ago. I did not wish him dead, but I do not wish him alive, either.

He was low-life piece of shit with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The world is definitely a better place now that he is dead. I'd like to get all dressed up in all my straight white-boy drag just to spit on his corpse. I've been waiting a long time for this. I swore I would never set foot in North Carolina until he was dead and in hell (I grew up there). Maybe now I can return to my home state for a visit with my relatives (although I probably won't). He was of less value than a piece of dog shit I scraped off my shoe. Good riddance.

America couldn't have had a better birthday present than the death of one of its foremost haters.

Weep not for Jesse Helms; he and his girlfriend Jerry Falwell are having a grand old reunion in Hell.

I am SO sorry he died on the 4th so the right wing can twist this lowlife man's hellish life into a vision of fake patriotism. I can still hear some of the trashy things he said in our halls of congress in the name of our country.
