Open Letter To The Masshole*

To the Masshole who sped up in the lane on my right, after I put on my directional, in order to prevent me from getting out of the way of the impatient gas hog in the Chevy Suburban riding my ass: Fuck off. All things considered, the folks around these parts are pretty polite. When in Troy, do as the Trojans do — and leave your ill-mannered behavior at the Massachusetts border, thank you very much. And you were in such a hurry, Mr. Douchey McMasshole, you probably didn't even notice that I passed you about one mile up the road.

I hate to tell you this, but in terms of Masshole driving behavior, this example is actually pretty benign. You should spend a little time in the Boston area driving around if you want to see some true stupidity.

I always found that on the packed CA freeways folks were quite courteous, too, considering the amount of rage that could have been generated sitting in traffic going 5 MPH. Everyone seems resigned to the fact...maybe that's part of where Californians get their laid back reputation.

Oh I don't know about that idea of the laid back reputation. Maybe when the traffic is only moving at 5 mph.

I do have to say that SoCal drivers are great when the traffic is bumper to bumper at 80 miles an hour. They actually pay attention to the other driver's signals and let them move about as needed. Blinkers are key to maneuvering the CA freeways.

Unfortunately, Oregonians don't even look for a blinker and if they see one they could give a S*^#. Probably because the traffic situation doesn't compare. It's so 1992 here when it comes to driving.
