There's A Dumbass Born Every Minute

I have to remind myself that every dumbass in the world doesn't live, drive, or work near me:

A college student in southern China was bitten by a panda after he broke into the bear's enclosure hoping to get a hug. The student was visiting Qixing Park with classmates when he jumped the 6.5' high fence around the panda Yang Yang's habitat.

He was bitten in the arms and legs. Two foreign visitors who saw the attack ran to get help from workers at a nearby refreshment stand who notified park officials.
Talk about desperate for affection!

People forget because they seem very lazy and genial, but these are wild animals!

Here's a whole BOOK full of similar displays of Wild Kingdom Dumbassery--Death in Yellowstone: Accidents and Foolhardiness in the First National Park by Lee Whittlesey. (But don't let it put you off a visit! It's beautiful out here...)
